Deventer Talenthouse
Deventer Talenthouse is a series of workshops where you can take your first steps in producing, rapping, songwriting, DJing, and jamming. You’ll not only work on your musical skills, but also on your stage performance. On top of that, it’s an easy way to meet other young people who are also making music.

Learn from musicians, producers, and artists
“By participating in Deventer Talenthouse last year, I met the most unique people, joined the New Deventer Collective (NDC) creative community and got performances and other unique opportunities” — Sarina Van Dijk (participant Songwriting, Producing and Rap 2021)
Deventer Talenthouse consists of four different Talent Routes:
- Songwriters & Musicians (new round starts in 2025)
- Rappers (new round starts in 2025)
- Jamming & Playing with Colored Monkeys (registration closed)
- Producers (recruitment now underway)
The workshops take place in Burgerweeshuis and are given by musicians, producers and artists who started themselves in order to take their first step. They share all their experiences as artists and guide you through the Deventer music scene.
In these workshops, you will learn how, for example, to write a song, how to present yourself on stage or what a good song structure or beat is, for example.
Under professional guidance, you will be supported, you will receive tips and feedback so that you can develop in a fun and safe way and, above all, learn from others.
The series of workshops ends with a cool presentation on stage in the Burgerweeshuis concert hall where friends, family and anyone else are welcome to see your live performance!
