Burger celebrates Talent
At the start of 2024, we kicked off our 40th anniversary with a festive opening in the main hall. May was dedicated to club nights, and June featured a wonderful series of concerts in the garden. Alongside our club nights and concerts, talent development is a key part of the Burgerweeshuis program. In this anniversary year, we want to shine a spotlight on all the talents and contributors involved.
Burger celebrates Talent
For years, emerging artists have been supported under the Burger Beurs banner, allowing them to develop their musical careers. There is also space at Burgerweeshuis for discovery, experimentation, and networking, such as within the New Deventer Collective and Deventer Talenthouse (in collaboration with Raster Welzijn).
In addition, we provide a stage for regional and local acts through SPEELDRANG, and bands and producers have been using our rehearsal basement and the Burgerstudio for years. We are incredibly proud to have contributed to the development of so many young talents over the years and to have helped launch successful artists like Snelle, de Sluwe Vos, and Babs!
Tonight, we will feature both old and new, unknown and well-known talents, some of whom have since built brilliant careers in the music industry.
We will also present our new videos about the talent development programs, and there will be time to catch up and reminisce!
