Thijs Boontjes is an Amsterdam-based crooner with rock 'n' roll in his soul. Since 2015, he has been carving out his own path, somewhere between Dutch pop, nightlife, and show-orchestra glam. On stage, he turns every venue into a sweltering dance floor; charismatic, slightly rebellious, and always in style.
His songs are seductive and sharp all at once. Less well-behaved, more bittersweet. Less daylight, more neon. Boontjes sings about the dolce vita and the darker edges, pushes back against macho behavior and small-mindedness, and invites everyone who is ready for freedom, sweat, and togetherness. Atmosphere guaranteed.
With his Dance and Show Orchestra, he has built a solid repertoire with cult potential over the past few years: two albums (Geen Achttien Meer and Dancing Boontjes), EPs, and a stack of singles that hit harder at night than during the day. From Pinkpop to Zwarte Cross, he has left his mark everywhere.
