Two Hammond organs, a ton of energy, and a mix of rock, funk, and psychedelia that explodes in every direction live.

On Saturday, April 17, the five-piece band is coming to Burgerweeshuis, armed with their new EP SAHARA and guest musicians to pull out all the stops.

‍

Orgel Vreten was born in 2012 from a one-off organ battle and grew into a band with a completely unique sound. At its core are the two Hammond organs played by Thijs Schrijnemakers and Darius Timmer, complemented by bass, drums, and sousaphone. It’s a pretty unusual combination, and that’s exactly why it works so well.

‍‍

Live, riffs, solos, and musical challenges fly back and forth. Sometimes funky and groovy, other times raw, psychedelic, and full throttle.

‍

"Exhilarating, raw, and physical: music that grinds, grooves, and frequently reaches the boiling point," according to 3voor12.

‍

Following releases like En de ander, Komrad, and De man en zijn machine, Orgel Vreten returns in 2026 with SAHARA. Don't expect a polite organ recital, but a live show where two Hammonds push each other to the limit.
