New Cool Collective
New Cool Collective is known for their energetic mix of jazz, funk, Latin, afrobeat, and dance. With tight grooves, ample room for improvisation, and a strong focus on rhythm and danceability, they perform with their 8-piece band.
Since 1993, New Cool Collective has delivered a unique blend of jazz, dance, and groove, born from the collaboration between saxophonist Benjamin Herman and DJ Graham B. What started in Amsterdam's Soul Kitchen grew into an internationally celebrated band, performing both as an 8-piece formation and a 19-piece Big Band.
In recent years, the band has released an impressive series of works. In 2024, their already rich catalog was Everything is OK added: an album that harks back to the 'anything goes, anything is possible' mentality that has characterized New Cool Collective since its inception.
With innovative horn arrangements, orchestral influences, and a playful approach to production, the band continues to challenge itself. Always curious, always evolving, and consistently able to reinvent themselves.
Known for their energetic shows, from Paradiso to Ronnie Scott’s, one thing always remains central: “Get the people moving.”
New Cool Collective consists of saxophonist Benjamin Herman, guitarist Rory Ronde, drummer Joost Kroon, percussionists Frank van Dok and Jos de Haas, keyboardist Willem Friede, bassist Leslie Lopez, and trumpeter David Rockefeller.
