BaBa ZuLa 30 years!
BaBa ZuLa, the eccentric grandmasters of Turkish psychedelic music, are celebrating their 30th anniversary with a new record and a European tour.
With their experimental and spiritual blend of music, poetry, dance, and theater, they completely captivate their audience. Using the unique electric saz and wooden spoons, BaBa ZuLa travels through centuries of Turkish musical history—from shamanic roots to the vibrant contemporary scene of Istanbul—giving it a modern twist.
In honor of their 30th anniversary, they recently released the album 'XXX'. It features a uniquely cohesive blend of traditional Turkish music, psych-rock, dub, and experimental electro-lounge.
Every live show is unique. An eclectic total spectacle where they seamlessly blend various artistic disciplines. Stunning costumes, belly dancers, poetry, and a theatrical setting.
They will be touring Europe this autumn and will perform at Burgerweeshuis on October 23rd.
