Raw documentary 'Men of the Square' featuring Julius and Simcha
This raw documentary about resilience and the power of one's own voice will have its regional premiere at MIMIK on Wednesday, July 1st, including a live performance and Q&A with the creators.
Starting with a disadvantage, but driven by an unstoppable urge to prove themselves, music becomes Julius and Simcha's outlet. Together, they form the rap group MVP.
In the documentary Men of the Square (25 min) we see them at a crucial turning point: the struggle for recognition and a place in society on their own terms. The film exposes the painful gap between who you are and how the world sees you.

This year, Simcha is supported by the Burgerweeshuis through the Burger Beurs. On Saturday, October 31st marks the release of his album 'Grime To Shine'. With his fast Dutch-language rap, he pushes the boundaries of Grime and combines it with influences from various other genres. The album is full of energy, dark sounds, and collaborations with artists from completely different worlds.
