Goodbye to Hoogtevrees
It is with a heavy heart that we have to say goodbye to music festival Hoogtevrees op de Worp at Deventer Op Stelten. Due to rising costs and the changing financial situation, Events Deventer had to make this choice.
To ensure the future of the theater festival, they have returned the focus to the core of Deventer Op Stelten: theater. Unfortunately, the current set-up of a major and free-to-access theater festival, of which Hoogtevrees was a prominent part, is no longer feasible.
Vertigo, a festival developed and organized by us, has been a familiar and valued part of Deventer Op Stelten for the past ten years. We are proud of what we have achieved together with artists, visitors, partners and our volunteers!
Thijs van Lier: “We are extremely sorry that, after more than ten years, the Hoogtevrees music festival as part of Deventer Op Stelten is coming to an end. Unfortunately, our ambition to further grow Hoogtevrees was not possible. We want to thank everyone who supported, visited and helped make the festival possible over the years.”
Despite this farewell, we remain committed to music, culture and creativity in Deventer and are exploring the possibilities of developing a music festival independently in 2026.
