Elmer's new show is raw and honest
Elmer is a high-energy rapper with a big mouth and a soft heart.
Over the past year, she has torn up many a festival stage (Lowlands! Pukkelpop! ESNS!) with her DJ dog, Skipper, in a wild show.
For her new show, Elmer combines provocative rawness, disarming honesty, and the colorful world of comic books into a shameless act that brings a long-awaited breath of fresh air to the Dutch music scene.
Inspired by Peaches, Mr. Oizo, and De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, she creates danceable tracks infused with electro-funk and Italo disco. Elmer tackles themes like commitment issues, self-loathing, and the hypocrisy of the left, always paired with humor, self-deprecation, and filthy lyrics.
Elmer wants to break with expectations of how a (female) artist should sound and look, thereby making the Dutch music scene more diverse.
