Meindert Talma & band
On January 24, 2025, Gezinsverbijstering, part 3 of Talma's autobiographical book/album series "Nederlands Onbekendste Popster," will be released. This is a joint publication by Uitgeverij Passage and Excelsior Recordings. Excelsior will also be releasing an LP of Gezinsverbijstering.
Meindert Talma is a musician, singer, and writer. He has performed solo and with backing bands in many well-known venues across the Netherlands and Belgium, as well as at festivals including Lowlands, Into the Great Wide Open, Zwarte Cross, Crossing Border, Eurosonic/Noorderslag, Oerol, and Noorderzon.
Meindert made his debut nearly thirty years ago with the vinyl single '20 jaar Muzikale Fruitmand'. Gezinsverbijstering is Meindert's 20th album and his fifth autobiographical book-CD combination.
Gezinsverbijstering covers the period from 2002 to 2008. Beyond the curious and sometimes melancholic career struggles, the central thread follows how Meindert's romantic adventures in the city of Groningen eventually lead to his first time living together and the births of two daughters in the Groningen countryside.
