Pothamus // Modder
Mechelen-based sludge/post-metal band Pothamus is back with a bang: their long-awaited second full-length album, ‘Abur’.
Following their critically acclaimed debut ‘Raya’ (2020), the band dives deeper than ever into their unique, ritualistic sound.
Expect an immersive blend of heavy-as-lead riffs, hypnotic percussion, and spiritual drones – enhanced by the use of the Eastern Surpeti and haunting vocals. With ‘Abur’, Pothamus once again pushes the boundaries of the genre in their own meditative and captivating way.
A musical journey filled with mysticism, existential questions, and undeniable intensity. The band once again collaborated with producer Chiaran Verheyden and artist Iljen Put to bring their visionary universe to life.
‘Abur’ is a 44-minute pilgrimage through the soul and the universe.
Modder
The five-piece Ghent-based sludge and doom outfit Modder occupies a unique place in the muddy sludge landscape with neck-breaking riffs, thundering basslines, grooving drums, and industrial samples and synths.
Live, Modder is a sonic sledgehammer that makes every fiber of your body vibrate, and they have since performed on the biggest underground stages in Europe.
They have also shared the stage with the likes of DOOL, Hangman's Chair, Blind To Faith, Alkerdeel, Doodseskader, Wiegedood, and Bongzilla.
