He has been in the game for over 40 years, releasing major hits like ‘Ganja Smuggling’, ‘Wa-Do-Dem’, and ‘Rude Boy Jamaican’, and is praised for his vocal innovation. He was one of the pioneers of ‘singjaying’: melodic, rhythmic chanting.
Eek-A-Mouse’s last album dates back to 2013, but the singer shared a new track in early 2022: ‘Isit Because I’m Not A Marley’. It delivers exactly what you’d expect: a danceable rhythm, driving bass, and his wonderful, laid-back vocals.
His live performances are true showbiz spectacles, complete with eye-catching costumes and more. He sings, squeaks, chirps, bidi-dongs, and wa-do-dems his way through the set, managing to win over every crowd completely.
