Alela Diane
The American Alela Diane is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who stands out for her warm and somewhat mysterious voice.
Her indie folk moves from gospel through roots to light psychedelic. Together with peers such as Devendra Banhart, Cocorosie, Fleet Foxes and Joanna Newsom, she combines sounds from the American musical traditions with her own imaginative interpretations.
Alela has been a full-time musician for over 15 years and has done extensive tours through Europe and North America several times in that time.
At the age of nineteen, she released her debut album Forest Parade out in-house. Some of Diane's great talent could already be heard there, but with the successor The Pirate's Gospel her name was established in 2006. In 2022, she already released her sixth album, called Looking Glass.
New music will follow this year and we will definitely hear about it when she comes to Deventer with a full band.
