Jungle By Night
Once again this year in June, the atmospheric courtyard of the Burgerweeshuis is the setting for a multi-faceted series of garden concerts where sparks fly. The special setting provides a special vibe time and time again.
In their fifteen-year existence, Jungle by Night managed to break through both nationally and internationally with their danceable mix of krautrock, jazz, dance and techno. The band is a welcome guest at festivals such as Lowlands, Sziget, Glastonbury and Into The Great Wide Open and if you've ever attended one of their rock-solid shows, you know that standing still is not an option.
Their music is about teamwork. That idea is therefore at the heart of their seventh album Synergy: raw, live and straight out of the moment. Recorded in their Amsterdam studio, with the doors wide open for extraordinary collaborations with Spinvis, Sef, MEROL, Pitou and Meral Polat, among others.
On Synergy, imperfection and spontaneity prevail, and the energy between musicians bursts off the tracks. The result is an explosive mix of electronic grooves, funk, disco and krautrock. More than an album, Synergy is an ode to creating together — and proof that the whole is always greater than the sum of its parts.
