The Beatnuts & Jeru The Damaja
Celebrating: Take It Or Squeeze It (25 yrs) & Wrath Of The Math (30 yrs). Two hip-hop legends on one stage! Raw beats, sharp bars and pure hip-hop. The Beatnuts & Jeru The Damaja celebrate their classics!
The Beatnuts
The legendary hip-hop group The Beatnuts has left an indelible mark on today's hip-hop since the early '90s with their explosive style, combined with sample-driven jazz beats.
Take It or Squeeze It is the fourth studio album by American hip-hop duo The Beatnuts. Released on March 20, 2001, the album is pure Beatnuts DNA: rock-solid beats, unpolished chaos, and humor that only JuJu and Psycho Les can deliver. No commercial flirtation, no concessions, but a hell of a cult classic. The Beatnuts stayed true to themselves, gave their fans exactly what they came for, and delivered quality in their own, unmistakable way.
Jeru The Damaja
Jeru The Damaja is one of the biggest names in hip-hop history. He is a hardcore old-school hip-hop artist from Brooklyn who initially made a name for himself as Gangstarr with Guru and DJ Premier.
Thirty years ago, on October 15, 1996, Jeru the Damaja released an album that touched hip-hop straight to the heart. “Wrath of the Math” was his fiery message against commercialization, fake glitter and the loss of the culture's soul. With DJ Premier at his best, Jeru delivered a raw, uncompromising record full of sharp bars, sharp criticism and pure love for true hip-hop.
Today, he continues to build his legacy independently from Barcelona, directly connected to his fans, without industry filters. With new music and energetic shows, he proves time and time again: real hip-hop lives, grows and knows no borders.
After 3 decades, the mission for both Jeru The Damaja and The Beatnuts is still: preserve the art, protect the culture, stay real.
