Wende & The Experiment
In June 2026, Wende will play a series of shows in small music venues across the Netherlands: ‘The Experiment’. This series marks the beginning of a new journey, leading up to her next pop album.
Following ‘Sterrenlopen’ and ‘Vrijplaats’, Wende finds herself at the start of a new phase. She is writing new work, collaborating with a new band, and exploring the form that goes with it. For Wende, an album and a live show do not emerge one after the other, but simultaneously. Performing is not an end point, but a necessary part of the creative process.
This time, Wende has chosen to make that process visible. The June series is a space to explore, experiment, and feel what the music needs to grow. Without predefined frameworks, and without the pressure of a finished product.
The shows will take place in intimate venues. Expect existing repertoire in a new form, new material still in development, and a band searching together. Not a definitive performance, but a beginning. Up close.
Wende: “For me, new music is inextricably linked to performing. This is the phase where everything is still open. By getting on stage now, I can discover what sticks and what needs to grow further.”
