Scrum//Bunch of Bastards
The annual party that brings the soul of Ireland to Deventer for a weekend. At the Scrum Civic Orphanage and Bunch of Bastards.
Scrum
The band Scrum is like a powerfolk brain rumbling over you. At full speed, the 6 men are putting in one song after another and by the end of the evening everyone is exhausted but satisfied... A powerfolk party like only Scrum can bring!
Scrum draws its inspiration from traditional Irish and Scottish folk music, but combines instruments such as the banjo, fiddle and Scottish bagpipes with powerful punky rhythms and rugged guitar sounds. All of this, topped with a generous shot of good Scotch whisky, provides the power folk that Scrum is known for.
Bunch of Bastards
Bunch of Bastards enthusiastically plays a spicy form of folk punk, they themselves call it “full force folk”, following in the footsteps and style of bands like The Pogues, Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys. With a tribute to a few songs from those bands, in addition to Irish traditionals and their own work. Sometimes subdued, usually exuberant and exciting.
The previously announced band The O'Reillys and the Paddyhats unfortunately canceled. For them, Scrum is on stage.
And Drunken Dolly is not present due to personal circumstances and will be replaced by Bunch of Bastards.
